Grand Master John P. Wood, Ph.D./Ma.D.Sc is a 9th degree Grand Master Instructor in Taekwondo, certified International Master, 7th degree Grand Master instructor in Koryo Gumdo, and 5th degree Master Instructor in Hapkido. He is a certified International Referee and Kukkiwon Hanmadong Referee, President and founder of Moo Do Won International, Chairman and founder of Koryo Gumdo International, and member of the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Additionally, he was named 2008 Instructor of the Year, and 2009 Koryo Gumdo Master of the year.
Grand Master Wood holds State, National and International Gold Medals in forms and sparring, and has trained hundreds of athletes to National and International titles in Taekwondo and Gumdo.
Chief Master Janice M. Wood is a 6th degree Master instructor in Taekwondo, 2nd Degree Instructor in Koryo Gumdo and 1st Degree Instructor in Hapkido. She is a certified International Referee, certified Kickboxing instructor, and certified fitness instructor. Master Wood is the Director of the Instructor Training Courses for Moo Do Won International, and co-director of JP Wood’s demonstration team. She holds State, National and International Gold Medals in both forms and sparring.
Master Wood is also very active in her local community on the Executive Board of Directors for the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson for the Village of Palatine Zoning Board of Appeals, and member of the Palatine Community Emergency Response Team.
Master John P. Wood Jr. is a 5th degree Master Instructor in Taekwondo and 4th degree Master Instructor in Koryo Gumdo. Master John has a degree in physical education with a certification in health, specializes in nutrition education, and is the director of the school’s nutrition program. He is a National Gold Medal Champion in Taekwondo and Gumdo forms and sparring, and International forms and sparring Grand Champion in Koryo Gumdo forms. Master John is also a professional pole vaulter, a six time All American collegiate track athlete, and named All –Academic from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Master Rory D. Wood is a 4th degree master instructor in both Taekwondo and Koryo Gumdo. He is currently on the Dean’s List pursuing his secondary education degree. Master Rory is a National Gold Medal Champion in Taekwondo and Gumdo sparring and forms, international forms and sparring Grand Champion in Koryo Gumdo, Samurang Games Grand Champion, and Hanmadang 1st place Champion in creative extreme forms. He is also a professional stunt choreographer and member and the co-director of the school’s demonstration team.
Master Casey D. Wood is a 4th degree master instructor in Taekwondo and 3rd degree instructor in Koryo Gumdo. Master Casey is a USNTF National Gold Medal Champion in sparring and forms, multiple Samurang Games Grand Champion, and a Hanmadang 1st place Champion in jumping high kick and creative forms. Casey is also a high school soccer and track athlete, “A” Honor Roll student, and member of J.P. Wood’s demonstration team.
